On December 5, 2012, PFCCAP's Founder and President received a rare honor. Dr. Armando Sardi was recognized alongside 99 of Colombia's most influential expatriates by President Juan Manuel Santos.
At the Presidential Palace in Bogotá, President Santos spoke to the Colombian honorees, lauding their service and the renown that they bring to their country through the work that they perform. Honorees were selected from disciplines including public health, fine arts, literature, medicine, and astrophysics. Among the "100 Colombianos" recognized were Gabriel Garcia Marquéz, Nobel Laureate, acclaimed for his pioneering literary works including 100 Years of Solitude, and Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, Latin Grammy honoree, best-selling recording artist and philanthropist.
Dr. Sardi was acknowledged for his groundbreaking work in the field of surgical oncology, and for his founding of PFCCAP and enduring dedication to health access in Cali. The Partners for Cancer Care and Prevention team is honored by this recognition of Dr. Sardi!
